The year 2024 has brought in new hope and new expectations. It has been 4 years since the start of the biggest health epidemic in the world, the Covid virus, and the country is still going through one more phase of infections with a new Covid strain. All of this has made the field of Pharmacy that much more important and relevant to humankind.
On the academic front, we continue to sail along smoothly. One of our Group colleges, Kashi Institute of Technology, became the first college in Purvanchal to get a NAAC A grade accreditation, with a score of 3.21, in it’s very first assessment. A feather in the cap of Kashi Group of Institutions, indeed. Now it is the turn of Kashi Institute of Pharmacy, and we are going though the process of NAAC accreditation, and we should complete the process in the next 6 months.
Pharmacy is currently going through a phase of consolidation and competition. On the one hand, multiple colleges are being opened, and the heavy competition means that the quality of education is getting compromised. On the other hand, Government of UP is putting additional barriers to admission – last year, admission in Diploma in Pharmacy was only allowed to those students who had given the JEECUP exam. A number of students keen on pursuing D Pharm had to be disappointed, and had to miss one year of their education.
The National Education Policy is bringing in sweeping changes, all to give flexibility to the higher education program. Now, students will be allowed to give a break to their education; they can transfer to other colleges with their bank of credits; some can exit during the program at various stages, and get appropriate certificates. Kashi Institute of Pharmacy is at the forefront of these changes, and we hope that all the students in Purvanchal benefit from these changes.
In the end, we continue to be at the forefront of excellence in education in the Purvanchal region in Uttar Pradesh. We are proud to be the torch bearers of quality education, and we are extremely positive about the exciting prospects that are being ushered in with the new NEP. Hopefully, we shall see the dawn of a new and bright future for all, in the years to come.
